AEROSMITH To Perform In India In November?
May 2, 2012According to DNAIndia.com, AEROSMITH is rumored to be planning to perform in India as part of the first edition of a major music festival to be held in Pune. The event, a joint venture by actor Arjun Rampal and entrepreneur Shailendra Singh, is said to be a three-day long "glocal" festival slated to be held November 23-25.
"This is going to be a huge musical gala to look forward to. It will be driven by culture, tradition and soul," says a spokesperson from the organizing team, adding, "And, of course, there are a host of A-list artistes and bands from across the globe who’re going to be a part of the event!"
AEROSMITH has delayed the release of its new studio album to September, according to an interview with bassist Tom Hamilton done by a Newfoundland radio station. The disc, originally set for release this spring, has been "pushed back," with no official reason given for the hold-up. The new AEROSMITH album will be the group's first set of all-new material since 2001's "Just Push Play" and first studio effort since the 2004 covers collection, "Honkin' On Bobo".
The veteran hard rock act began working on the new album last year with producer Jack Douglas, who produced classic AEROSMITH albums like "Rocks" and "Toys In The Attic".
The group has had to work around singer Steven Tyler's schedule as a judge on "American Idol", where he is currently in his second season.
The delay means that the yet-to-be-titled CD will follow the band's summer "Global Warming" tour, which begins June 16 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and wraps up in August.
